Smart Uplink modules provide an easy connection to other Fast Ethernet stacks or devices to allow cabling distances well beyond the normal limitations of Fast Ethernet.??They isolate collision domains and restart repeater hop counts. This allows multiple connections and hierarchical 'pyramid' configurations similar to 10Base-T configurations. Fully IEEE 802.3u compliant, Smart Uplink Modules are available in 100 Mb/s TX, FX/ST, and FX/SC or 10/100 Mb/s TX, FX/ST full duplex, and FX/SC full duplex options for Netelligent 2824 and 2724 Dual Speed Hubs.
